If you're like me, it's extremely hard to find clothing that fits my daughter. I have to cut off her pants so they are not too long and roll up shirt sleeves multiple times. Several months ago while doing an online search for some clothing, I came across a site called Down's Designs that made clothes specifically to match the structure of those with Down Syndrome. I do wish they were not as pricey and that there were more stores that could accommodate!! Down's Designs

I am lucky and Abby still fits into her sister old clothes . I did have to hem up a few this year. She 10 and now wearing 7. The shirts are a problem because when they are long she chews on them.

I wonder if that's a common thing with Down Syndrome? Catalina likes to chew on her shirt sleeves as well.

The shirt sleeves get wet and there are holes in them. She chews on her hair sometimes too. I am going to ask at school if she does it. I put her hair back so she will not chew on that.

Catalina does that too. She also loves thing that dangle. She's always taking her shoes off so she can dangle them by the shoe laces.

Hi Everyone, I am new here....thank you Michelle for making me aware of your group.....I love it!!
About clothes as I have one teen with Down syndrome and one adult....I too have this problem, but the way I have solved it is to buy pants or sweat pants that have elastic at the bottom or I buy capris which tend to fit perfectly....an they do not drag...and look presentable and don't cost a fortune....and with the shirts I buy shirts that are either 3/4 or ones that are cuff like.
Good luck, Kim

Hi Kim! I've bought capris before but haven't found any around here with elastic in the waist. I'm going to have to do some looking online. Never thought about the 3/4 sleeve. What a great idea! I'm glad you like that site
